master tailor internship

Tess van Zalinge is looking for a master tailor intern.

In our Amsterdam based atelier we work in a small multidisciplinary team. That is why we are looking for a creative tailor talent for 4 to 5 days a week to support the atelier. We offer a dynamic internship in a young and creative work environment where you can play a crucial role as a Tailor Intern within the team, resulting in a lot of creative freedom and responsibilities. You work closely with the designer yourself so you really become part of the team and your ideas together with your input are of great value. You are assured of a challenging and educational function.

Your responsibilities includes;
-Translate designs and ideas into patterns
-Create prototypes for fittings and execute them
-Optimize the technical department and archive of the label
-Advise for relevant topics such as materials and their care
-Responsible for archiving patterns and samples
-Help with the development of the collection from first sketch to a presentation
-Participate during creative days
-Support of daily activities of the team

Competences;
-Living in the Netherlands
-Graduated or studying a master tailor apprenticeship/related studies
-Master relevant techniques of pattern making, tailoring and sewing
-Bring your own laptop (preferably an Apple)
-Experience in working with woven materials and knits
-Communicative and socially skilled
-Strong interest and knowledge about the fashion industry
-Flexible attitude
-Independent and assertive
-Structured and organized
-Creative and outspoken
